Recommending “The Room” (the game, not the movie…)

If you’re like me and you like first-person puzzle games like Myst, but you don’t necessarily have the brain power or the patience to click your way through an entire landscape, you should check out the multiple award-winning The Room, from Fireproof Games. (This game has nothing to do with the movie of the same name.)

THE ROOM 1024x768

It only took me a couple of hours to complete, as I recall (since this was a few months ago). The puzzles can be challenging but not hard, there’s a hint system, and the atmostphere is intriguing and – at times, depending on what you do – even a little startling and spooky. It’s a great little game for your tablet or computer (but probably too detailed for a small phone screen).

I’m mentioning it because I just found out that they added a free new “epilogue” level within the last few days, and I’m anxiously awaiting some free time when I can get back into The Room. You owe it to yourself to check it out.
