The rim of the great ledge, or Unemployment

Today is the 41st day since I was laid off and, let’s face it, I don’t feel very good about it.

Job hunting has been unsuccessful so far, despite my spending most of my time doing so. I seem to be either over-qualified for the blue collar jobs, or too “Jack of all trades” for the white collars. You might think that having an employee with experience in multiple related responsibilities would be a bonus for employers. Yet, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Every day it’s the same old routine of sending out applications and emails, working on specialized cover letters, reviewing job seeking advice, and so on and so fifth.

So… what’s the point of this blog? Right now? Nothing, really. Just a place for me to vent my almost-daily ponderings, frustrations, and such. Don’t expect perfect grammar – you’ll have to forgive my little editorial peccadilloes. Sometimes a little sin is good for the soul. (Hmmm… Looks like that’s not an original thought – at least according to Google, that font of all knowledge.)

And yes, I used ‘font’ from the Latin fontis (instead of fount) and started this sentence with a conjunction. Next we’ll see how many peccadilloes make a peck of pickled peppers.
